The parade starts at 9 a.m. at Philadelphia’s City Hall (15th and Market streets) and continues down Broad St. to Washington Ave. Groups will pause their marching to perform at the intersections of Broad and Sansom streets, Broad and Pine streets and Broad and Carpenter streets. The entire parade is a long affair, with the last group scheduled to reach the end of the parade route around 6 p.m.

Here’s the start times for each Mummer division from City Hall:

  • Fancy Division: 9 a.m. Order: Golden Sunrise. 

  • Wench Brigades: 9:30 a.m. Order: American, Cara Liom Oregon, Bryson, O’Malley, Riverfront, Pirates, Saints and Froggy Carr.

  • Comics: 10:30 a.m. Order: Goodtimers, Landi and Murray.

  • String Bands: 12:30 p.m. Order: Greater Kensington, Durning String Band, Pennsport String Band, Peter A Broomall String Band, Greater Overbrook String Band, Aqua String Band, Hegeman String Band, Uptown String Band, Avalon, Duffy String Band, Polish American String Band, South Philadelphia String Band, Fralinger String Band, Joseph A. Ferko String Band, Woodland String Band and Quaker City String Band.

In order to watch the Fancy Brigades' spectacular Broadway-esque skits, you’ll have to go to the Mummers Fancy Brigade Finale show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center (1101 Arch St., Philadelphia) on Jan. 1. There are two different performances, one at 11:30 a.m. and the other at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20-$25 and can be purchased in-person and online at Here is the order and themes for the Fancy Brigade performances:

  2. Golden Crown: “Fall From Grace”

  3. Clevemore: “Be Our Guest”

  4. South Philly Vikings: “The Galactic Circus: Coming to a Planet Near You”

  5. Saturnalian: “Once Upon a Dream”

  6. Spartans: “La Celebracion de Los Muertos”

  7. Purple Magic: “Candy”

  8. 2nd Street Shooters: “Assassins Creed, the Secret Crusade”

  9. Avenuers: “Reflections of China”

  10. Bill McIntyre’s Shooting Stars: “Great Spirit: Legend of the Dream Catcher”

  11. Jokers: “Puppetry in the Making”

  12. Downtowners: “This is Halloween”

Not keen on standing along Broad Street on New Year’s day? There are also grandstand seats available at the performance locations along the route. Tickets for these seats are $20 and can be purchased by calling 800-537-7676 (extension 0) or visiting the Independence Visitor Center (6th and Market streets).

Take a moment to warm up at the Kimmel Center (300 S. Broad St.), which is hosting a New Year’s Day Celebration from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The party includes performances and activities. Find out more at

Can’t wait until New Year’s Day to celebrate with the Mummers? Be sure to check out the MummersFest at the Pennsylvania Convention Center starting on Dec. 28. There you can watch as the Mummers prepare for the big day, as well as learn more about the traditional parade. Tickets for MummersFest are $5.
